Put Off The Old Man

In both Romans and Collosians Paul speaks of putting off the old man:

Col 3:9 KJV) ....................ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

Where is the old man?

(Rom 6:4 KJV).....we are buried with him by baptism into death......

What is the new man?

(Col 3:10 KJV) And have put on the new man (Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision), which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

(Col 3:11 KJV) Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

(Eph 2:15 KJV) Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

(Eph 4:24 KJV) And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

The new man is not gentile or jew. So why is it some claim to follow jewish laws, feasts and dietary laws? Why don't they follow gentile laws?

Can you be a Messianic Jew? - yes but you are denying that you are a new man.

Can you be a "Jewish" Gentile? - yes, you will try to keep the law but you are denying that you are a new man.

What happened to the old man?

(Rom 6:6 KJV) ..... our old man is crucified with him.

What happened to Christ on the cross? He Died. The old man died with Christ and was buried in baptism.

The Jew died with Christ, the Gentile died with Christ.

(Col 2:20 KJV) ..if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

(Col 2:21 KJV) (Touch not; taste not; handle not, which all are to perish with the using); after the commandments and doctrines of men?

(Col 2:23 KJV) Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

Col 2:20 - 23 (MSV) if ye be dead with Christ why are ye subject to ordinances after the commandments and doctrines of men?

(MSV) Mindya Shortened Version)

(John 3:3 MSV) Jesus .....said .... Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

(John 3:4 KJV) Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

Whats the answer to Nic's question? - die with Christ in baptism, the new (born again) man appears rising from the water of baptism - "so we should walk in newness of life."

(Rom 6:4 KJV)...we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

So what happened at baptism?

(1 Pet 1:23 KJV) Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Being born again is how we become the new man.

Don't be haggling with a dried out zombie.

When that zombie tries to crawl out of the grave, dance on it and stamp ya feet on those hands...
